How to Book a Vehicle Inspection Appointment (TÜVTÜRK 2026)
Vehicle inspection in Turkey, as we explained in our Vehicle Inspection Guide, is a periodic legal requirement. When your inspection date is approaching, the most practical way to avoid waiting hours in line at the station is to book an appointment beforehand. TÜVTÜRK (Turkey's official vehicle-inspection operator) offers this appointment through several channels, free of charge; whichever channel you choose, the information required and the result are the same: a reserved processing window for you at a specific station, on a specific date and time.
In this article we go through the appointment channels one by one, the steps for booking online, the information the system asks for, the rules for changing or cancelling an appointment, and what going without an appointment means in practice.
Appointment channels (TÜVTÜRK website, mobile app, call center)
According to TÜVTÜRK's official channels, a vehicle inspection appointment can be booked in four separate ways:
- TÜVTÜRK website / online appointment system — an appointment is created via tuvturk.com.tr or directly through the appointment system's own address (reservation.tuvturk.com.tr) using your plate and registration (ruhsat) information.
- e-Devlet — an appointment can be booked through the "Muayene Randevu Kayıt" (inspection appointment booking) service on turkiye.gov.tr; accessing this channel requires identity verification via your e-Devlet password, mobile signature, electronic signature, Turkish ID card, or internet banking (e-Devlet).
- Mobile app — TÜVTÜRK's official mobile app (published as "TÜVTÜRK" on the App Store and Google Play) is, per its current store description, mainly meant to let you take a virtual queue number without going to the station and to track the inspection process; the description text does not mention a separate, from-scratch appointment-booking form (Google Play, App Store).
- Call center — appointments can be booked, changed, and cancelled by phone at 0850 222 88 88, six days a week (excluding Sunday) between 08:00 and 20:00 (TÜVTÜRK Contact). Whichever channel you use, the appointment is free and depends on the same calendar and the same station capacity — a time slot that shows as full on the website will also show as full through the call center.
Step-by-step online appointment booking
In TÜVTÜRK's appointment system (reservation.tuvturk.com.tr), the online appointment process consists of these steps:
- Enter your plate and registration information. Along with your plate number, you enter your registration document (ruhsat) series letter and series number, and select your province (il).
- Complete the security check. Enter the security code (captcha) shown on screen.
- Confirm your vehicle information. The system requests or verifies technical details such as vehicle type, maximum laden weight, and brake type.
- Select the service type. You specify whether you're booking a general periodic inspection, a roadworthiness inspection, or a post-modification inspection.
- Select date, station, and time. You pick a day that works for you, one of the stations in your city, and an available time slot.
- Save your contact details. Your first name, last name, phone number, and email address are requested so your appointment confirmation can be sent.
Before finalizing the appointment, the system also automatically checks whether there is any outstanding motor vehicle tax (MTV) debt, unpaid traffic fine, or HGS/OGS toll-violation registered against your plate; if such a debt exists, the appointment generally cannot be completed until the debt is paid (TÜVTÜRK Appointment System).
Information needed for the appointment (plate, registration)
When filling out the appointment form, you should have the following on hand:
- Plate number — the vehicle's current plate, as recorded on the registration document.
- Registration series and number — the series information printed on the registration document as a letter+number combination; if this field is entered incorrectly, the system cannot find the vehicle.
- Province / district — which city you'll get the inspection done in.
- Contact details — phone number and email, used for the appointment confirmation and reminder.
- If booking via e-Devlet — your Turkish ID number and e-Devlet password (or mobile signature/e-signature/internet banking login) are required.
These are enough to book the appointment; the documents you need to bring to the station on inspection day are a separate matter — we've compiled the full list of items such as traffic insurance, the exhaust-emission sticker (if applicable), and a physical copy of the registration document in our Documents Required for Vehicle Inspection article.
Changing and cancelling an appointment
Changing your appointment's date or time, or cancelling it entirely, is free regardless of which channel you booked through; you can do it via the website, e-Devlet, or the call center (TÜVTÜRK). In practice:
- Via the website/e-Devlet: You view your appointment using your plate and registration information (via Turkish ID login on e-Devlet), then use the "change" or "cancel" option on screen.
- Via the call center: You can have the same transaction done by phone by calling 0850 222 88 88 and providing your plate information.
- The debt check applies here too: The tax/fine debt checked when booking the appointment can also be queried when making a change; if a debt exists, the change may be blocked.
Cancelling as soon as you realize you won't make your appointment time is healthier both for you and for another vehicle owner waiting for that slot — a freed-up appointment time goes back into the system and becomes available for someone else to use.
Difference from a walk-in (queue-based) inspection
The only procedure that TÜVTÜRK's official website explicitly states can be done without an appointment is the exhaust-gas emission measurement; this measurement can be obtained at all fixed stations without booking an appointment (TÜVTÜRK). The situation is different for a general periodic inspection: since stations operate at high capacity, those who show up without an appointment may not find a processing slot that day, and even if they do, the wait time can stretch unpredictably longer compared to a booked appointment.
The virtual queue-number feature in the mobile app exists precisely to reduce this uncertainty: instead of arriving early and waiting in a physical line at the station, you can wait outside or in your car using the queue number obtained from the app. But this doesn't substitute for an appointment — a queue number provides priority for that day, while an appointment guarantees you a specific date and time from the outset.
In short: if your inspection date is approaching per the calendar in our When Is Vehicle Inspection Due? article, booking an appointment that falls on that date — or, if you've left it to the last minute, at least pulling a queue number from the mobile app — are the two most reliable ways to shorten the time you'll spend at the station.
